Our Role
Online Blood Tests provides an online platform that allows customers to purchase access to private pathology testing, health screening services, pathology request forms, referrals, and related services.
We may use Bloody Good Tests Pty Ltd as a fulfilment and pathology coordination partner to assist with order fulfilment, pathology request forms, laboratory coordination, results management, and customer support.
Bloody Good Tests’ framework states that its role is limited to facilitating access to accredited laboratory testing, receiving results from partner laboratories, and presenting those results to consumers in a clear and transparent manner. It also states that it does not provide diagnostic services, medical interpretation of results, treatment advice, or management recommendations.
Understanding Your Results
Your pathology results may include laboratory reference ranges. These ranges are supplied by the reporting laboratory and are intended to provide context.
A result outside the reference range does not always mean there is a serious health issue. Equally, a result within the reference range does not always rule out a health concern.
The significance of any result depends on your symptoms, medical history, medications, age, sex, previous results, and other clinical factors.
You should discuss your results with your regular GP or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional, especially if:
- your results are abnormal;
- you have symptoms;
- you have an existing medical condition;
- you are taking medication;

- you are concerned about your health; or
- you require diagnosis, treatment, or ongoing care.
Critical Results
A critical result is a laboratory finding that, in the opinion of the reporting laboratory, may represent an immediate or significant risk to a person’s health if not acted upon promptly.
What counts as a critical result is determined by the reporting laboratory and may vary depending on the test, the degree of abnormality, the clinical context, and laboratory-specific policies.
Where a reporting laboratory formally notifies Bloody Good Tests of a critical result, Bloody Good Tests may arrange for the result to be reviewed by an appropriately qualified clinician and may contact the customer directly using the contact details provided with the order.
This contact may occur by phone, SMS, email, or another available method.
Abnormal Results
An abnormal result is a result that falls outside the laboratory’s stated reference range but has not been classified by the laboratory as critical.
Abnormal results may or may not be clinically significant. Their importance depends on your personal health situation and should be assessed by a qualified healthcare professional.
Bloody Good Tests’ framework states that it does not routinely contact consumers about non-critical abnormal results, and that responsibility for follow-up sits with the consumer in consultation with their usual treating doctor.
For this reason, you should review all results carefully and arrange medical follow-up where needed.

You may be contacted by Online Blood Tests, Bloody Good Tests, a pathology provider, laboratory, healthcare professional, or related service provider if there is an urgent, critical, abnormal, or clinically significant issue relating to your test.

When to Seek Medical Help
You should seek medical advice from your GP or another qualified healthcare professional if:
